About SAMS-V Evaporator Coils
An evaporator coil is the part of a refrigeration system that cools the air inside the box. Refrigerant flows through a network of copper tubes wrapped in aluminum fins; as it evaporates it absorbs heat from the air passing over the coil, and the fans circulate the cooled air through the walk-in. Coil size, fin spacing and fan count determine how much heat the coil can remove, so the right model depends on the box size, the product load and whether the box runs as a cooler or a freezer.
Air defrost (DL series) SAMS-V coils suit walk-in coolers. Electric defrost (DD series) coils have built-in heaters to clear frost and suit walk-in freezers. Keep the coil clean and the drain clear to maintain capacity and extend the life of the system.
